Wednesday comics review - the series
Posted on October 9, 2009 by Spirit1
As this exciting anthology is ending, it's time for an overall evaluation. Personally, this project from DC was one that really caught my attention and interest as it brought a lot of qualities and dare --- in content & format -- to the industry. First, without reviewing each and every one of the 15 titles included in each issue (15 titles , 1 page each/week), I enjoyed most of them thoroughly, my favorite being Kamandi as it captured and exploited the format perfectly -- reminiscent of Prince Valiant by Hal Foster from the Sunday strips. If you enjoy something different that offers a variety of talents and genres, this is for you. Let's hope DC Comics will revisit with this series next year, as it, in my humble opinion, deserves a second round with many other writers/artists waiting, in line I'm sure, to collaborate on this great project.
